The Hydrometeorological Service of Russia, part of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation (now the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring). Specialists of the Russian Scientific Research Institute of Electromechanics (now named after A. G. Iosifyan) are working on the creation of meteorological satellites for hydrometeorological and oceanographic support, as well as meteorological satellites for studying the ionosphere.
