Participants in traditional national costumes attend the celebration of the New Year according to the Evenk calendar in Magadan, Russia. Traditionally, the Evenk holiday Muchun (literal translation from Evenk - "time when the earth is renewed") marks the beginning of summer, once the first larch (muchukta) blossoms and the cuckoo begins to sing. Alternatively, it is called Ikenipke, which means "the cuckoo's song".
