Alexander Kibalnikov (1912-1987), one of the foremost Soviet sculptors. His best-known works include the monument to patron of the arts Pavel Tretyakov in front of the State Tretyakov Gallery and to classic poet Vladimir Mayakovsky on Triumfalnaya Square (both in Moscow), the monument to revolutionary writer Nikolai Chernyshevsky in Saratov, and the Brest Hero Fortress memorial.
