

The sculptural portraits of two women -- Paranthropus, who lived in Africa about 600,000 years ago, left and a representative of the Slavic Vyatichi tribes, which inhabited the territory of the modern Moscow suburbs and nearby regions in the 12th century. They were made by Mikhail Gerasimov, an anthropologist, sculptor and archaeologist, who elaborated a method of restoring human image based on the skull (born in 1907).
