Monument to Duc de Richelieu in the Odessa seaport, Ukraine. Armand-Emmanuel de Vignerot du Plessis, duc de Richelieu (1766-1822) was a French emigre statesman and the first governor-general of Odessa (1803-1805). His monument, by sculptor Ivan Marthos, was unveiled in 1828. Popularly known as The Duke, it is one of the most frequented sites in the city.
