Ukrainian SSR. Crimean Region. A large wave of Crimean Tatar repatriation occurred in 1988, as they started to return en masse from places of exile. The state farm Agrarny was set up in Tanino (now Sary-Bash) in the Pervomaisky District of Crimea under a state program. Children study the Koran in a rural school.
