

On December 7, 1988, the devastating magnitude 10 earthquake in Soviet Armenia totally destroyed the city of Spitak and 80 percent of Leninakan (currently Gyumri), the republic's second largest city. Evacuees Anait Tamaryan and her son are consulted by children's doctor Yelena Vasyutina in an outpatient clinic in Adler.
