

A monument to Gogol on Moscow's Suvorovsky Boulevard, renamed Nikitsky Boulevard in 1992, by sculptor Nikolai Andreyev and architect. Fyodor Shekhtel. Background: The former mansion of Count Alexander Tolstoy where Gogol spent four years, from 1848 until his death in 1852. Today, the building houses the Gogol Memorial Museum and Research Library.
