The monument to Polar Railway Workers. Railway workers became one of the first residents of Murmansk, and construction of the city began by laying cross-ties and railway tracks. The monument is a stone pedestal with the silhouette of the Kola Peninsula and railway lines. Golden inscriptions reading To Polar Railway Workers and the Murmansk Railway Division can be seen on both sides of the monument
