The Memorial for Defenders of Soviet Extreme North in the Great Patriotic War (also known as Alyosha) is a memorial complex in Leninsky District, Murmansk. The 42-meter-high monument stands on the Zeleny Cape hill, which rises 174 meters above the Kola Bay. Design by architect Pokrovsky and sculptor Brodsky. The monument was unveiled on October 19, 1974.
