

A statue of miner Nikita Izotov outside the Cultural Center on Lenin Avenue in Gorlovka, Donetsk Region, Ukraine. The statue was created by sculptor V.Kostin and architect N.Yakovlev. Izotov Movement, a form of Socialist competition in the Soviet Union was named after Izotov in 1932. The idea behind the movement was that achieving ultimate performance is possible by both mastering advanced production methods and sharing experience with less skilled workers.
