The Ukrainian SSR. American citizen John (Ivan) Pinter, a famous Donetsk miner, arrived from the United States to Soviet Russia in 1921 and spent his whole life in Ukraine. He worked at the Lidiyevka coal mine in Donbass. A city street is named in his honor. Igor, the older son of John Pinter, also works at the mine.
