In October 1945, as a result of a border amendment between Poland and the Soviet Union, the border was moved 1 km and the village of Kryolov (Nordenburg until 1950) and Bagrationovsk (Preussisch Eylau until 1946) became part of the Koenigsberg Region (now Kaliningrad Region). People from the Russian, Belorussian, Ukrainian and Lithuania cities affected by the Great Patriotic War started moving to the region. Personal archive of one of migrants.
