Tarusa marked its 775th anniversary in 2021. Tarusa City Day is marked annually on July 12, the Day of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. This year, the festive events lasted from July 11 to 18, including a fair on Lenin Square, the central square of Tarusa, next to the Peter and Paul Cathedral. Vendors offer carved items, pottery and Russian Lubok items, paintings by famous artists, traditional embroidery, and jewelry. A cotton candy counter.
