Nikolai Medvedev, Greek-born Lithuanian and Soviet politician (real name Varikopulos), deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Was active in Sajudis (a social and political organization in Lithuania, which led the former Soviet republic's secession and restoration of the independence of the Republic of Lithuania in 1988-1990; originally, the Lithuanian Perestroika Movement).
