St. Petersburg. People visit the Sevkabel Port Cultural center on Vasilyevsky Island in the city's Gavan (Harbor) District. The Sevkabel Port cultural cluster is located on the territory of the Sevkabel Port Cable Plant. Founded in 1879, the Sevkabel Port Cable Plant ranks among the oldest enterprises in St. Petersburg. Following the modernization of the company's production facilities and its reorganization, it was decided to relocate industrial workshops outside city limits. Some workshops were merged under a renovation project, and 20 percent of their floor space accommodated the above-mentioned public cultural space. The buildings are divided into various functional zones where it is possible to create projects, to work, to relax and to engage in creative work and sports.
