The Mourning Mother Memorial in Smolensk installed in 1970 near the Immortality Mound at the mass grave of Soviet patriots and underground resistance fighters who were executed by Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). Created by sculptor Albert Sergeyev, architects Anatoly Stemparzhitsky and German Soosar.
