Sergei Pavlovich Korolev, Soviet scientist, designer of rocket and space systems, one of the key figures in human space exploration, one of the founders of practical cosmonautics, academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Under his leadership, the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite and the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin was organized and carried out.
