People celebrate the traditional Khidir Nabi holiday on the outskirts of the village of Yukhary Oisyuzlyu in the Tovuz District of Azerbaijan. One of the most ancient Azerbaijani holidays, it is held after the first ten days of the last winter month and indicates that spring will set in soon. People gather near an old sycamore tree near a river on he village's outskirts, light bonfires and torches, make wishes, walk around the tree and hand out tasty snacks.
