Participants, dressed in traditional costumes, celebrate Malanka holiday in in the village of Krasnoilsk, Chernivtsi region, Ukraine. Malanka is a Ukrainian, Belarussian, and Russian folk holiday celebrated on 13 January, which is New Year's Eve in accordance with the Julian calendar. During the celebrations participants, wearing traditional and carnival costumes and masks, sing carols, play pranks or perform short plays.
