Journalists stand near ruins in the town of Agdam, Azerbaijan. In July 1993, most of the region's territory came under the control of the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and was, subsequently, incorporated into its Askeran region. According to the ceasefire agreement in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Agdam region was transferred to the Republic of Azerbaijan after November 20, 2020.
