A man smears his face with highly mineralized sulfide mud from the bottom sediments of the bitter-salt lake Tus, in the Shirinsky district, Russia's Republic of Khakassia. Tus has the status of a specially protected natural area, medical and recreational area and resort of regional importance; it is the most mineralized lake in Khakassia (275 g/l), which allows a person to lie on the surface of the water and not sink.
