The picture gallery. The Great Catherine Palace, called Great Tsarskoye Selo Palace till 1910. Having originated in 1717 on the order of Russian Empress Catherine I, the building was thoroughly reconstructed in 1742-1756. Architects Mikhail Zemtsov, Andrei Kvasov, Savva Chevakinsky, Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli, Charles Cameron, Giacomo Quarenghi, Ippolit Monighetti, Vasily Stasov.
