Darwin Nature Reserve created in 1945 in the Cherepovetsky District of the Vologda Region and the Breitovsky District of the Yaroslavl Region to study changes in wildlife after the construction of Rybinskaya Hydropower Plant and formation of the Rybinsk Water Reservoir. A willow ptarmigan that changes its white feathers in summer to blend with the environment.
