Darwin Nature Reserve created in 1945 in the Cherepovetsky District of the Vologda Region and the Breitovsky District of the Yaroslavl Region to study changes in wildlife after the construction of Rybinskaya Hydropower Plant and formation of the Rybinsky Water Reservoir. Wood grouse chicks hatched in an open-air cage of an experimental nursery.
