The Central Television Network of the State Television and Radio Committee of the USSR broadcast the weekly musical entertainment television show Goluboi Ogonyok / Blue Light from April 6, 1962 until 1985. Later, it was only broadcast on weekends and holidays. Since 1964, Goluboi Ogonyok / Blue Light became a traditional annual New Year show.
