Russian President Vladimir Putin passes the Order of Courage to an unidentified relative of Leon Feldhendler, Polish jew known for his role in organizing the 1943 prisoner uprising at the Sobibor death camp in German-occupied Poland during WWII, in Jerusalem, Israel. Putin arrived to attend celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Leon Feldhendler has been awarded with Russian the Order of Courage on June 17, 2019.
