In 1158, Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky (God-Loving) founded the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Virgin in the city of Vladimir. In 1408, the Reverend Andrei Rublyov and Daniel Chorny painted the fresco Apostles and Angels on the cathedral's wall.
