

The Order of the October Revolution, one of the top Soviet-era orders, was instituted by an October 31, 1967 decree of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet (Parliament) in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Great October 1917 Socialist Revolution. Artist V. P. Zaitsev contributed the order's rough sketch.
