The Uzbek SSR. Monument to Yuldash Akhunbayev, foreground, and Alisher Navoi Street. This monument to an outstanding statesman and member of the Communist Party of Uzbekistan was built to a design by sculptor V. Bogatyryov and unveiled in 1959. In the late 1970s, the monument was dismantled due to construction of the Hotel Moskva.
