The Optimum-2 specialized computer was intended to accomplish linear programming tasks linked with haulage plans. It was developed at the Institute of Cybernetics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, now the Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and was manufactured at the Elektroizmeritel Plant in Zhitomir.
