

Junior research assistant of Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics Dmitry Kasatov looks at the display as he demonstrates how an accelerator-based neutron source for boron neutron capture therapy works at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, in Novosibirsk, Russia. Novosibirsk State University in cooperation with the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Tomsk Cancer Research Institute, Japan's University of Tsukuba, UK University of Oxford and some other research organizations had launched the large-scale project aimed at applying the BNCT method to treating cancer.
