

PHOTOPACKAGE BY ALEXANDER KRYAZHEV, LAST OF TWENTY ONE - A hand-made red star sits atop a WWII veteran's grave at a cemetery of non-existent anymore village of Berezovski, some 85 km (53 miles) west of Novosibirsk, Russia. 95-year-old WWII veteran Alexander Antsupov, the last Hero of the Soviet Union living in Russia's Novosibirsk region, stays very active despite his age. He's untiringly takes care about small rural cemeteries where many of WWII veterans rest in piece: inspiring local residents to mow the grass, mount nameplates on soldier's graves, install wooden crosses and hand-made red stars - the symbol his brothers in arms had fought for.
