A couple makes a selfie as they stand on a shore of a bright blue lake nicknamed the "Siberian Maldives", outside Novosibirsk, Russia. The colour of the water is turquoise due to high pH level, calcium salts and other metal oxides from a local power station. The Siberian Generating Company has deployed guards to keep trespassers at bay, but insists that the lake presents no environmental danger.
