Ukrainian SSR. Lebyazhyi Ostrova (Swan Islands) nature reserve in the north-west of the Crimean Peninsula in the Karkinit Bay of the Black Sea. Adjoining to the reserve is the Karkinit wildfowl reserve; the entire area is now State Nature Reserve under the supervision of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
