Venezuelan National Guard officers guard the Simon Bolivar Bridge connecting Venezuela with Colombia, in the border town of San Antonio, Venezuela. On February 24, supporters of the Venezuelan opposition tried to illegally cross into Venezuela from the Colombian side of the bridge, throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at the officers. The violence on the border first erupted when the Venezuelan opposition tried to ensure the delivery of the so-called humanitarian aid from Colombia and Brazil. Venezuelan legitimate President Nicolas Maduro has rejected the deliveries of US-sponsored aid as a ploy to oust him from power.
