

WWII veteran Ivan Strelnikov (1923-1999), a participant in the Battle of Kursk outside Prokhorovka on July 12, 1943, the greatest tank battle of the Great Patriotic War, with his wife. He was decorated with the Orders of the Patriotic War 1st and second class, the Order of the Red Star, the Orders of Glory all three classes, medals For Courage. He also took part in the Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow in 2945. His bust was erected on the Heroes Alley in Prokhorovka, and in 2002, a school in the village of Podolkhi was named after him.
