A helmet from circa 1150-1250 was unearthed in Ukraine's Kiev Region by members of an archeological expedition from the Leningrad subsidiary of the Institute of Archeology of the Soviet Academy of Sciences, now the Institute of Material Culture's History of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
