The joint Soviet-American Bering Bridge expedition, headed by Dmitry Shparo (USSR) and Paul Schurke (USA). March-April 1989. The expedition participants crossed the state border of the USSR and the Bering Strait, and then continued on to the US island of Little Diomede.
