A Yer-2 bomber designed by V. Yermolayev (1908-1943). The aircraft, introduced in 1940, had a speed of 420 km\h and a ceiling of 7,700 m. During batch production, alterations were made to the design concerning the engines, armament and airframe size, while the 72 sq. m. inverted-gull wing remained unchanged. During the initial production period, the planes were fitted with M-105 1,050 hp engines, which were traded for ACh-30B diesel engines with a power output of between 1,250 and 1,500 hp in Autumn 1942 to increase the bomber's operating range. The Yer-2s were mainly used for deep-penetration raids.
