The hill has been called Vladimirskaya Gorka (Vladimir Hill) since the monument to St Vladimir, Baptizer of Rus was unveiled in 1853. Its slopes offer a magnificent view of teh Dnieper, Podol, Trukhanov Island and Darnitsa. A specially built observation site of the Merchants' Assembly is a favorite among tourists.
