Sculptor Mikhail Anikushin, People's Artist of the USSR, Acting Member of the USSR Academy of Arts, Hero of Socialist Labor, and winner of the Lenin Prize, and the State Prize of the Russian Federation. He chaired the Leningrad Department of the Union of Artists of tghe USSR, and the Leningrad Branch of the Peace Fund.
