Space probes looking for traces of life on Mars might have destroyed organic substances during the chemical tests, New Scientist writes citing a report by a group of US scientists at a conference on Moon and planets studies in Houston. Doug Ming, of NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston, and his colleagues had an experiment. They heated perchlorates and organic substances to high temperatures, and the samples contained no traces of organic chemistry as the result. According to scientists it proves that Martian probes destroyed organic molecules trying to discover them. Even with several particles to 1,000 organic matter concentration in the soil, Vikings and Phoenix would not see it.
