

Borshchyovka village in the Gomel Region, the Republic of Belarus, was evacuated in 1986 after the Chernobyl nuclear power plant's fourth reactor exploded. The Polesye State Radiation-Environmental Reserve which was established here is off limits to visitors and is guarded by the police.
