Residents of the Estonian village of Berezovka Rozalia Sheifer, left, and Larisa Sheifer, on the background of their embroideries that copy traditional Estonian designs. The village of Berezovka was founded in 1902 by settlers from Estonia. Lack of farmland in their old country made them look for new lands where they could live and work independently. The "Stolypin settlers" as they call themselves came to Siberia on rafts down the Chulym River. All those years their descendents have carefully preserved the Estonian cultural heritage.
