The new Russian 9 mm PP-2000 submachine gun, loaded with 7N31 cartridges, is capable of piercing a 8 mm-thick steel plate. The gun was developed by KBP Instrument Design Bureau in Tula to equip combat vehicle and artillery crews, as well as logistics troops, which are usually not supposed to engage in close combat with the enemy.
