Bush, who was on an official visit to Russia, laid wreathes to the monument of the Motherland at the Piskaryov Memorial Cemetery in St. Petersburg. City residents who died of hunger, artillery shelling, and bombing during the Nazi siege (from 1941 to 1944) were buried here.
