Poland. Mikolin town features a stele commemorating Soviet soldiers, members of the Red Army's First Ukrainian Front, who were killed January 23-30, 1945, while crossing the Oder River. Volunteers renovated the stele in 2015-2017 on the initiative of the Kursk community. Under Poland's anti-Communist legislation, there are plans to demolish over 500 Soviet-era monuments in the country until March 30.
