Valery Melnikov, left, 2017 World Press Photo winner in the Long-term project category, Rossiya Segodnya staff press photographer, at the presentation of his photo series Black Days of Ukraine at the opening of the World Press Photo in St. Petersburg. The exhibition is hosted by Loft Project Etagi exhibition space. The World Press Photo is a prestigious annual photojournalism award. In 2017, the competition included over 80,000 images taken by photographers from 125 countries.
