Italy. XVII Congress of the Italian socialist party in Livorno. January 15-21, 1921. During this Congress the left wing left the ISP and announced creation of the Italian Communist Party. At the head of the split was Amadeo Bordiga, who was chosen Secretary General of the CPI, and Antonio Gramsci, head of the "Ordine Nuovo" fraction.
